TWO PICTURES AT LYRIC
There are plenty of laughs in store ior those who attend the Lyric Theatre during the showing of “The Matinee Idol.” It is one of the funniest comedies to be shown there in some months. The picture relates to adventures of a company of "ham” actors which attempts to show Broadway a few' things about acting and meets with defeat. Between hilarious scenes there are pouches of pathos and heartaches as the brave little heroine fights odds to convince the blase New Yorkers that and her company are producing a dramatic masterpiece. "When she bawls” out the first night audience there is an uproar of laughter. An appealing love interest is inter-"ovf-n in the plot between Ginger, Portrayed by Bessie Love. and the •lackface comedian, a role assumed Dy ( Johnnie Walker. The latest Rin-Tin-Tin picture, onJ . “Flinty of the Desert,” is also bei ng shown.
