! ROTORUA SUNSHINE LEAGUE I A meeting of the committee of the Rotorua Sunshine League was held on I Fridav evening in the Sanatorium. Mr. I c H. Clinkard. M.P.. presided. Mr. R. Macßae, of Kaingaroa. wrote enclosing a cheque for ,€4S 16s 6d, ana expressing Tin- hope that it would be l expended mainly on the children in King 1 George V. Hospital. \ A letter had been sent to Mr. Macßae ! acknowledging the receipt of the money | and thanking him for his efforts on bej half of the hospital children. Captain E. F. H. Knowles, organiser, said the town had been divided into j areas. He had written to various Auckland firms soliciting donations. Circulars and posters had been printed and circulated. The programme was full and other arrangements were well in hand. TAURANGA HARBOUR BOARD At the monthly meeting of the Tauranga Harbour Board it was decided to amend the by-laws so as to enable the board to hold meetings at two-months intervals instead of once a month. Messrs. C. H. Macmillan, M.P., and J. G. Green were appointed to represent the board at the meeting of the Bay of Plenty Development League, to be held oil January 23. The following remit will be submitted to the league by the board:—“That the Minister of Railways be asked to take over the railway line from- the Te Maunga Junction to Mount Maunganui, and to run all excursion trains in the district to the Mount Station.” CARGO FOR ENGLAND. —Advice from Sydney states that the steamer Hurunui, which is unloading cargo from New York in Australia, is expected to reach Adelaide from Melbourne next Friday. She is to leave on Saturday for Port Pirie, thence New Zealand for Homeward loading. COPTIC'S LOADING. —Advice has been received by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Line that the motor-ship Coptic, which left London on Tuesday for Australia, will subsequently load in New Zealand about the middle of March for England. She was in New Zealand last September on her first voyage to these waters. AORANGI FROM SYDNEY. —At 7.30 p.m. yesterday the Union Company s R. Aorangi arrived in the stream at Auckland from Sydney. About an hour later the vessel berthed at the Prince's Wharf to land her passengers, and mails and to load for America. The Aorangi left Sydney shortly after noon last Thursday and experienced fair weather for the run across the Tasman Sea. - The following passengers disembarked at Auckland:—First saloon: Mr. P. E.
