SIR D. SERJEANT DEAD

OLDEST PRACTISING DOCTOR (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) (United Service) LONDON. Saturday. The death has occurred of Sir David Maurice Serjeant, the oldest practising doctor, aged 9K.

Sir David Serjeant was at Cambridge and Guv’s Hospital, and emigrated t«> Australia in 1852. He played in the two first inter-State cricket matches, and is the only survivor. The matches were between Victoria and New South Wales. He was a keen follower of cricket. He met with an accident in November last, and one of his legs was broken. He showed remarkable recuperative powers, and returned home before his doctor wished. He was in his early days in the medical service of the P. and O. Line.
