UNEMPLOYED TO MARCH
TWO WORKLESS ARMIES (United Service) LONDON, Friday. Two armies of the unemployed are preparing to march to London. Both are organised by the Communists. They will be faced with strong opposition by the Trades Union Council. The first army will start from the Scottishfli coalfields next week, while the South Wales contingent of miners will set out a week later. The marchers will not be confined to miners. Other unemployed persons have been invited to join en route. The demonstration is aimed not only against the Government, but against the Trades Union Council and the Parliamentary Labour Party, with which the Communists are at bitter loggerheads. The Trades Union Council is condemning what it describes as “the exploitation of the unemployed for the benefit of the Communists for political ends.” It recalls that when the South \Vales miners marched to London a year ago there was much useless suffering and misery inflicted. It predicts that the experience will be repeated. without assisting the u nora* ployed in the slightest.
