A TALL STORY

Once upon a time there was a bo.y His name was Augustus Brown.

One clay, Mrs. Brown made an iced cake. She made it with self-raising flour.

■‘l know what that cake is,” said Augustus Brown to himself. '‘That’s my birthday cake. I shall eat a bit.” “My,” said Augustus Brown. “I do feel funny.” And he found himself rising in the air.

Up he went, higher and higher. “Oh, where am I going to?” cried Augustus Brown.

Suddenly the self-raising flour left off working, and Augustus Brown began to sink down again. Down he went. Up came the wall, up came the dog-kennel, up came the ground to meet him. Bump! Augustus Brown had a big bruise, and Mrs. Brown sent him to bed without his tea.
