Champagne For 2000!

Memorable Opening of New “Talkie” Theatre f opening of the new Regal cinema in London was one of the most interesting ceremonies of the kind yet seen in the film world. The audience included Prince and Princess Arthur of Connaught, Princess Maud, Princess Marie Louise and the Duke of Schleswig-Holstein. The programme began with ihe singing of the National Anthem, in which Mr. Knightsmith, the wellknown toastmaster, welcomed the audience in a talking picture. The leading feature was “The Singing

Fool.” the wonderful talking picture in which A 1 Jolson is the star. Before the end of the performance a Him of the arrival of the Royal party was shown and the negative of this picture was presented to Prince end Princess Arthur of Connaught in a ilvor casket. At the close the 2.400 people in rhe theatre were served with champagne.
