Upward Trend on 'Change

South British shares are slightly uei.r. with sellers asking 64s 6d compared with 64s 9d yesterday. Auckland Gas show a further advance. buyers improved to 24s 2d failing to secure business. In the shipping group Huddart Parkers show ini’wased strength, sales being put through at the early call at 495, the first time on this level since the middle of September last. Northern Steams are also in better tone, and buyers at
mid-day moved up 4d to 13s 7d. The last, recorded sale of this scrip was early in December, when the market was weak at 13s 3d.^ Little movement is shown in the miscellaneous group. Whittome Stevensons, after a long period of neglect, found a market yesterday afternoon at 42s 6d. A buyer came in this morning at 40s.
