MAKO THRILL FOR SIR HARRY LAUDER (From Our Own Correspondent) OPUA, To-day^ Captain Orr- Ewing, an aide de camp to his Excellency the Governor-Gen-eral, Wets fishing on Friday from a small outboard motor-boat belonging to the lighthouse-keeper, when lie hooked a large mako shark. After a strenuous half-hour’s light things became too thrilling for the officer, who signalled to Sir Harry Lauder s launch, Otehei, for assistance. Captain Ewing transferred to the Otehei, and played his fish from the cockpit for an hour before it could be harpooned. The shark was brought into Urupukapuka camp and turned the scales at 250 pounds.
