KALAUGHER DOING WELL IN SPORTS AT HOME

Kalaugher, New Zealand Rh'odes scholar, has biossomed out as a prominent Rugby player for Balliol College during | the present winter at Heme. Playing as wing-tlireequarter in the first six matches of the season, he scored eight tries and kickc i 1» koa*' lie was s*:locted to play for tlie Oxford Greyhound against the Weis Guard.-, when scorer three tries and kicked •*o goals. Placing f- * the Greyhounds again t King’s Hospital, London, ho scored two tries. Included in the hospital lifteen were two internationals —R. Cove-Smith and D. J. McMyn. ATHLETICS AND CRICKET Besides getting his blue in athletics, Kalaugher last summer played for his university in county cricket in the matches against Leicestershire, Oxford, and Surrey. He is a member of the Centipedes and Achilles Athletic Clubs, but, because of Oxford’s age restriction in inter- varsity athletics, he will not be eligible to play for Oxford University against Cambridge University when they meet in the next English summer. He hopes, however, to be included in the combined OxfordCambridge team, which is to visit the United States during the coming summer to compete against Yale, Harvard, Cornell, and Princeton Universities. Kalaugher is also stated to be doing very well at his studies.
