(From Our Own Correspondent) Miss D. Insol], of Sydney, is visiting j Hamilton. \ Mr. and Mrs. D. Bohan. of Welling- | ton, ore visiting Hamilton. Mrs. W. Balt has returned to Hamil- | ton after several weeks’ absence. Mrs. W. C. Somers, of Te Afjha. is ! the guest of Mrs. H. T. Gillies. Claude- ! lands. Mrs. P. A. Syers and her daughter j are spending the holidays at Waihi j Beach. Mrs. W. D. Fraser has returned to Tirau, having been on a visit to the •South Island. Mrs. Wilson, of Wellington, has been i the guest of Mrs. Norton, Paterangi, for the holidays. Mrs. H. Osborne, of Te Awamutu, spent a few days with the Misses Osborne. of Horahora. Mr. and Mrs. E. Hardy and family, Thornton Road, have returned to Cambridge after a holiday at Kawhia. Mrs. Hepburn, of Christchurch, who j lias been the guest o'"' Mrs. P. Cleary, of Hamilton, has left for Tauranga. Mrs. E. Peveral and her son have returned to Gisborne after spending the Christmas holidays with-relatives in Cambridge. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. McCrackt-n have returned to Hamilton from Ne\V Plymouth, having been taking part in the tennis tournament. Mrs. H. C. Ross has returned to Hamilton after being with the Community Camp for children at Port Waikato for the last fortnight. PARTY AT TE AWAMUTU A very enjoyable evening was given by Mrs. Hope, at her residence, “Hairini,” when both bridge and dancing were combined. Mrs. Hope received the guests wearing a frock of royal blue crepe de chine and georgette. Miss Kitty Hope was wearing pale apricot and Miss Eileen Hope, salmon pink crepe de chine. Mr. H. Mandeno was the winner, having the highest ■ score for the bridge. Among those present were:—Mr. and Mrs. C. Storey, Mr. and Mrs. H. Mandeno (Dunedin), Mr. and Mrs. B. Von Stunner (Auckland), Mr. and Mrs. Allan Storey, Mesdames Chamberlain, Ashmore, Peake, Misses B. and M. Storey, E. Peake, M. Jones, P. Mandeno (Dunedin), Kilbride (Matamata), E. Chittenden and Focke, Messrs. J. Grist, L. Jones. J. Thomson, Mandeno (2), D. Chittenden, L. May, B. Hague, E. Storey, Fitzgerald (Matamata), J. Baxter, Cummings, S. Von Sturmer (Auckland), and D. Storey. The Christian Students’ Conference, which is being held at Cambridge, had a delightful piclnic to the Narrows. The visitors were taken in motor-buses, and after luncheon they went on board the s.s. Manuwai and the return journey to Cambridge was made by boat. in the evening the whole conference went as far as the golf links, where a cheerful camp-fire was burning. The time passed quickly with camp-fire stories and singing.
