HELP FOR POOR MINERS (Australiar* anti N.Z- Pres* Association J Reed. 11 a.m. RUGBY, Tuesday. The Lord Mayor’s fund for the relief of distress in the mining areas now exceeds £440,000. Many tons of clothing have also been contributed. Local organisations , arc busily en - gaged attending to necessitous cases. The assistance given takes numerous forms.' One example is that, in response to a special request from the Prime Minister, certain advertising, printing, and paper organisations have agreed to a free display of 10,000 posters throughout the country, appealing for public help. This gift alone represents £IO,OOO.
