SPURIOUS FLORINS
A RUSSIAN ARRESTED MELBOURNE POLICE RAID MELBOURNE, Tuesday. Detectives who have been investigating the recent appearance in Melbourne of spurious florins, to-day seized what is described as a complete coining plant in a house at Port Melbourne. David Mahovsky, described as a Russian, was arrested in bed. At the Police Court to-day Mahovsky was charged with possesi.ng, without a licence, moulds bearing impresses and resemblances to the King’s coins. He was remanded.
