At tractive Jewellery Novelties
Mesh bags for evening are again in vogue and have the endorsement of, among others, the famous French couturier Chanel. They are made in both medium and large sizes of the finest quality mesh, Both silver and gold plate frames are used, and some enameled. In place of the oldfashioned ornate style or the very slender ones with a wealth of engraving, the new frames are made in modernistic shapes. Th.e clasps are in pyramid form or in squares in tiered effects. Various combinations of triangles, squares and rectangles are used as ornamentation. The handles are of cobra chain of flat rectangular shapes. When a clasp forming a solid motif is employed it has a tab for pulling the bag open made of metal in the same design as the clasp. When colour is desired the ba<-s with enameled frames will serve for they include the newest colours and will go well with any of the new evening gowns and wraps. The enamel used is guaranteed not to crack or break under any condition. Several of the models have frames depicting oriental scenes and others have simple striped designs on a solid colour. The clasps and chains in these are slightly modernistic, but not so extreme as in the others, where solid metal is used throughout. Some of the colours are Chinese red, orien-
tal blue, green in dark and light shades, coral, orchid and navy blue and black shot with silver.
