SCARLET FEVER HEADS LIST LITTLE INFLUENZA ABOUT At present scarlet fever is far in the lead in the number of infectious diseases reported in the Auckland, Northern, Southern and Tliames-Tau-ranga districts, but there has been a decrease compared with November in scarlet fever and other infectious diseases. This applies to the notifications last month, when the total of infectious I cases reported was 192. compared with 242 in November. In November there were 10 cases of influenza. The details of notifications are as follow: Auckland. —Scarlet fever 32. diphtheria 14, enteric fever 2, tuberculosis 13, influenza 1, pneumonia 13, erysipe- | las 5, puerperal fever (ordinary) 2, • puerperal fever 5. eclampsia 2, ophthalmia neonatorum 1: total, SS.
