NEW REGENT
NEW PROGRAMME TO-MORROW The intensely dramatic picture, “The Enemy,” starring Lillian Gisli and Ralph Forbes, will be screened at the New Regent Theatre for the last time this evening. To-morrow the Regent will screen another excellent programme, which will include two main pictorial attractions. The first of these will be “The Drag Net,” a fine story of the underworld, starring George Bancroft. The story concerns a gang of crooks who offer Detective Nolan (George Bancroft) £I,OOO a month if he will leave them alone to carry on their nefarious work. A woman of the gang (played by Evelyn Brent) even goes so far as to offer him lier love if he will abdicate and throw away his police badge and join in with the gang’s activities. The choice h© makes and the terrific dangers he encounters in adhering to his decision are pictured in thrilling fashion. William Powell plays the part of the gang leader,, assisted by Fred Kohler. Movie lovers will see Lev/ Cody and Aileen Pringlo in a comedy romance with the most realistic sporting background ever brought to the screen in “Beau Broadway,” their next co-starr-ing vehicle for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, which also comes to the Regent tomorrow. New supporting pictures, and a new programme of acrobatics by the ten Regent Wonders will complete the entertainment. The musical programme will again be in the hands of Mr. Arthur G. Frost, At the matinees onl3 r the pantomime, “Little Red Riding Hood,” with a new cast of clever juveniles and adults, will be presented.
