FROLICS AT HIS MAJESTY’S

LAST SEASON BEGINS After Thursday evening the Midnight Frolics will frolic no more in Auckland, either at midnight or at any other time, for Clem Dawe and his company will be moving cm toward the South. But for the last three nights of the show a new programme has been put on that is said to be better than any of the others. Everyone in Auckland, almost, must have seen or heard of Clem Dawe in his live-minute sketches. Here is the series that he will present in the new programme: “Whistle Away Your Blues.” "Potted Plays,” “The Chemist’s Shop,” “Parochial Gathering,” “Mama’s Gone Dancing,” “The One Woman in the World,” and “The Xew Waiter.” The titles alone are sufficient to make them worth seeing. With Clem Dawe. and ably supporting him in his sketches, are Eric Edgley, Gertie Cremer and Dorothy and Les White. They also do good work individually on the stage. William Perryman and Oscar Beck sing delightfully and share the honours with Lilian Crisp. This trio is probably one of the most popular features of the show. Gregory Ivanoff plays the violin as beautifully as ever and conducts the jazz band as cleverly, while Phyllis Amery and John Robertson, backed up by a welldressed chorus, dance delightfully.

On Thursday, the last night of the show, a special grand farewell programme will be given, containing all the most popular numbers of the season.
