POLICE RAID CHINESE

OPIUM DISCOVERED AT TAURANGA FINES BRING IN £75 Press Association TAURANGA. To-day. The police yesterday, with the local Collector of Customs, raided a shop in the Strand occupied by Ah Dong, a Chinese fruiterer, and discovered a quantity of uncustomed opium. Later Ah Dong and his assistant, Moi You Fong, were brought before justices of the peace. Both pleaded guilty. The former was fined £SO for having opium in his possession and the latter £25. for smoking opium.
