ON HAURAKI PLAINS NEW CLUB GETS BUSY (Prom Our Own Correspondent) KEKEPEEHI, Monday. The Kauraki Plains Sports Association, which was formed with the idea of promoting a picnic race meeting, has been advised by Mr. A. M. Samuel, M.P., that the Minister of Internal Affairs has granted a permit to conduct a non-totalisator race meeting at Kerepeehi on Pebruary 16. However, as the Te Aroha Club recently changed the date of its meeting from February 23 to February 16, the Hauraki Plains body at a large meeting on Friday evening decided to ask for an alteration of date to February 23, to prevent clashing. Mr. A. M. Samuel. M.P., is patron. Mr. IT. Dent, of Ngatea, is president, and Mr. J. F. Smith, of Kerepeehi, secretary. A committee has been elected to supervise the preparation of the track. The suggested programme comprises seven races, and the stakes range from £lO to £3O. Members are being enrolled rapidly.
