CHIROPRACTORS MEET
ANNUAL CONFERENCE A. substantial increase in membership was disclosed at the ninth annual conference of the New Zealand and Australian Chiropractors’ Association held in Wellington. The president. Mr. J. A. Scott, was in the chair and delegates were present from all parts of the Dominion.
The balance sheet showed a credit balance of £l4l 0s Id. The co-opera-tive insurance fund was considered to be in such a satisfactory position that it was decided to reduce the annual subsidy payable from the general fund to the insurance fund from £SO to £25. The following officers were elected: — President and secretary. Mr. J. A. Scott; vice-president, Mr. J. P. Colwill; treasurer, Mr. J. M. Craig; committee, Messrs. T. Giles (Auckland), J. R. Hart (Napier), W. C. Lawson (Palmerston North), R. V. Lorenzen (Nelson), and J. Giles (Dunedin). The following were appointed a Chiropractic Defence Committee for the year:—Messrs. J. A. Scott, J. P. Colwill, J, M. Craig, T. Giles, and A. H. Thomson. A code of ethics and of professional conduct prepared by the president, chiefly for the guidance of your/?r members of the profession, was adopted in its entirety Remits regarding political and legislative matters were dealt with and proposals for combined newspaper publicity w/ e fully discussed. The conference, while entirely favourable to the idea of co-operative publicity on educational lines, was of opinion that the scheme proposed did not fulfil requirements. It was decided that the next conference should be held in Auckland.
