MAIN HIGHWAY CLOSED
ROAD IN THE NORTH (From Our Oxen Corresoondent) WHANGAREI, Sunday. The district engineer of the Public Works Department has advised that a portion of the Whangarei-Kawakawa main highway between Akerama a# Waiomio is to be closed to traffic fJWJ to-day. This portion of the highw«|| which Is under reconstruction by Main Highways Board, is now rea ■»'/ for metalling. # The reason for closing the road » J allow the metalling to proceed rapid as the board is endeavouring to vide an all-weather road for the coi* ing winter. While the road is closgp cars will be able to proceed via' Ruapekapeka Road.
