OUTBURST IN HOBSON ST. LENIENCY TO CRIPPLE His wooden leg saved James Williams £4 at the Police Court this morning. Williams, a bootmaker, aged 42 pleaded guilty to using obscene language in Hobson Street last evening Sub-Inspector McCarthy could say nothing for the man except that he suffered from a disability, having a wooden leg. H© was a pensioner and had not been before the court since 1926. Mr. b\ K. Hunt, S.M., imposed a fine of £l, remarking that, had it not been for the sub-inspector’s reference to Williams’s disability, the lino would have been 42 5.
