DID HIS BEST TO WRECK RESTAURANT BAD SHOT COSTS £4 6 - Annoyed because he was not allowed to investigate the kitchen arrangements, William Dominson made things decidedly merry in a Karangahape Road restaurant last evening. Dominson, a dealer, aged 42, pleaded guilty at the Police Court this morning to being drunk and disorderly and committing mischief by wilfully damaging a gramophone and six records valued at £2 16s, belonging to John Kell Smith. According to Sub-Inspector McCarthy, Dominson entered a restaurant in Karangahape Road very much under the influence of liquor. lie wanted to enter the kitchen and a waitress tried to stop him. The proprietor was putting him out when. Dominson threw a large heavy block of wood which he was carrying under his arm. The missile narrowly missed the proprietor’s wife and damaged the gramophone, breaking six records. “He was very lucky that he did not hit the woman,” concluded Mr. McCarthy.
Dominson, who was making his first bow in Court, was lined £ 1 on the first charge. On the second he was fined 10s and ordered to make good the damage, £2 16s. He was given two weeks to pay and the total default was fixed at three weeks.
