The earlier part of the , day was fine, and everyone enjoyed themselves tremendously until rain ! unfortunately fell and spoiled the | latter part of the afternoon. ! Sports were held after lunch, leading off with a potato race, which was won by Misa Irene Comes. Then came a men’s fancy dress race, which was | the best event of the day. The competitors raced from the starting post to a row of bags, in each of which was a complete fancy dress, in which they had to clothe themselves and 'come back. The race was won by Mr. Shilton in a kimono and boudoir cap.- but it was so successful that the audience insisted on a 50yds. sprint in costume. Air. Eric Rridson was first in this, and Air. Stewart second. After this there were several children’s races, but then the rain began to fall and the picnickers had to pack up and go home.
