UNKNOWN MAN AT CAMBRIDGE YOUTHS HEAR SPLASH Our' Otoh' Correspondent/ CAMBRIDGE, T >-day. tt is feared -the Waikato River at Cambridge Was the scene of another tragedy last evening. About 5.20, two youths named Chubb, .fishing, for eels near the riversteamer landing-place, heard a splash as though someone had fallen or jumped Into ’the, river. This was followed by a gurgling sound. They ran-to the spot, but were unable to see'anything, as it was almost dark,. , On. searching, they found a good Borsalino hat, bought from Alf Moore Clothing' Co., Auckland, also a gold-mounted safety-razor outfit and two shillings, in silver. There was nothing to show the identification of the owner. The police are - dragging the river, but without result as yet.
