BETTING DECREASE

CARNIVAL FIGURES COMPARED £113,331/10/- DOWN A decrease of £113,331 10s, compared with the corresponding seven days’ racing of 1927-28, is revealed in the totalisator investments made during the racing and trotting carnivals which ended yesterday. This year the figures amounted to £489,350. In 1927-28 £602,681 10s was put through, i Although wet weather resulted in a ; certain falling-off in attendance, this | was hot. so large a factor as might j have been expected.
