The Minister of Defence, Sir WilGlasgow, is reticent as the matter is the subject of inquiry. ft Is understood that a board of inluiry i s being appointed to investigate contracts for the building of air?lanes for the Defence Department, in teanect.on with which Mr. Shepherd suspended. The inquiry is likely to be projected, pending the return of Colonel head of the department. * ho is visiting the United States.
