MOUNT EDEN HOME ROBBED
PURSE TAKEN FROM HOUSE
Entering a back bedroom of Mr. James Miller’s home in Fairview Road, Mount Eden, last evening a thief stole a purse containing. 30s and decamped unnoticed. The action ivas a daring one in view of the fact that several persons were in the front part of the house. No sound was heard, but it is thought that the theft was accomplished between 8 and 9 o’clock. Later the empty purse was found on the verandah. Nothing else has been missed.
It is significant that no fewer than three attempts have been made recently to enter houses in the immediate vicinity. The circumstances in each case have been such that residents are satisfied that the actions are those of a person or persons who know the movements of the householders.
