WHATAWHATA MEETING A RECORD ATTENDANCE (From Our Oxon Correspondent) HAMILTON, Tuesday. A record, attendance favoured the annual meeting of the Whatawhata Amateur Sports Club, staged on the Whatawhata Domain to-day. Competitors were present from Tauranga, Auckland and numerous centres in the Waikato district. A heavy shower of during the meeting made the grass track very slippery and four cyclists fell in the one mile cycle event, but these falls did not result in serious injury to any of the competitors. TAURANGA SEVEN-FOOTERS MABEEN CUP CONTEST (Special to THE SUE) TAURANGA. Tuesday. The race for the Mabeen Cup, sailed by schoolboys under 16 in the local seven-foot yachts, was won again by Graham Carter. who captured the trophy last year*, when it waa first competed for. WHANGAREI REGATTA SAILING AND ROWING A feature of the Whangarel annual regatta held at Onerahi yesterday was the success of visiting oarsmen. The crowd of 2,500 witnessed many keen contests, both in the sailing and rowing events. Details of racing: Maiden Double Sculls, 1 mile—Auckland (G. deal str), 1; SL George's (W. L.
