“WIFE OF A MILLIONAIRE”
WORTHLESS CHEQUE FOR £223
(Australian and N.Z. Press Association) NEW YORK, Saturday.
Airs. Theodore Alvarez, an Australian, who says she is the wife of an Argentine millionaire, has been arrested in an exclusive hotel on a charge of grand larceny, for presenting a worthless cheque for £223 at a clothing shop. The woman is said to have served a term of imprisonment in Canada on a similar charge.
