GOOD MONEY
TRACKERS of even two winners at "Elerslie yesterday should have shown a profit on the day, for the dividends were of substantial proportion, if not large. Indeed the eight winners averaged a starting price of a little short of six to one, this with one favourite scoring at short odds. Not a single winner gave a double figure return, so it shows how even the dividends were. On the other hand, there were some fine prices going about some of the horses that finished second. Dalston’s price ran into double figures, and Toxeuma was well on the way to that amount. The rain and the soft track made winners a bit trappy to find, and this was reflected in the returns as enumerated above. With better conditions prevailing to-morrow (but the course will still be soft), it rnay pay to follow the favourites. This can also be applied to the card for the concluding days on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
