Wednesday Over 50,000 passengers travelled from Croydon to the Continent by air in 1925, which is a record since the service's inception in 1919. Over 30.000 flew in British air-liners. > The majority' of air travellers are women, although an Imperial Airwayofficial says that one of the most satisfactory recent feature is the number of business men who are now realising the extent to which the airway's can save valuable time. An official said to-day: "We have beaten all records for the transport of Christmas seasonable freight across the Channel.” His story was repeated by officials of every air line from London to Continental cities. Airplanes have carried capacity loads of gifts from Paris in the past week. Quantities went from London to Cologne, Amsterdam and Brussels. The heaviest trade of all occurred on Christmas morning, with the dispatching of last-minute gifts.
