PROGRESS AT PAPATOETOE
NEW PAVILION AND BANDST/iND Included in the building programme now being carried out by the Papa* toetoe Town Board is the erection ° a sports pavilion and a band rotunda. The total cost of the two buildings to the ratepayers will be under £3OO, as nearly all the work will be carried out by voluntary labour, the board providing the materials. For many years the lack of <3ress J!*f accommodation at the reserve on 1 Great South Road has been a cau** of complaint, and both summer an winter sports have been played una difficulties. Some time ago the Tow Board undertook to supply the mate - ial for a new pavilion, if the footbai > cricket and hockey clubs would cam out the work. , Construction work is now well aaadvanced on the pavilion, which at the north-western end of tn reserve. . The building is being constructed m permanent material, and is 40 feet long by 16 feet wide. The finishing work, and the installation of shower -batn*. is being taken in hand by the b.oaruThe band rotunda is being built t the design of Mr. E. S. chairman of the Works Committee o the board.
