“CHRISTMAS PEACE IN INDUSTRY”

GERMAN DISPUTES SETTLED (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) BERLIN, Saturday. Under the heading “Christmas Peace in Industry,” the newspapers announce the terms of the award made by HenSevering, Socialist Minister of the Interior, in regard to the Ruhr steelworkers. It enforces to December 31 the award which the employers refused to accept. After that date a sliding scale, which reduces the increases to the more highly-paid men, will be adopted. The Ministry of Labour has also given a binding award in the shipbuilding trade in which 45,000 men have been on strike for three months.
