Lees, of Mount Eden, has passed his final medical examination, being the only candidate to pass out of 43. Mr. Lees will now go to London for hospital experience before practising in New Zealand. The Hon. T. M. TVilford, Minister of Defence, is being approached this afternoon by a deputation representing the Auckland Aero Club. After to-day he will not resume public duties until December 28, when he intends visiting Devonport, to go into the question of dock extension and other affairs. The Rev. G. R. Monteith, who- was ordained deacon on Friday, began his duties as curate of St. Matthew’s Church yesterday. After the evening service Mr. Monteith was entertained by the parishioners at a social gathering. Speeches of welcome were made by the vicar. Canon C. H. Grant Cowen, Mr. A. C. Hallett and Mr. E. O.
