AT NEW PL YMOUTH
Fair fields all round will he the order at New Plymouth on Wednesday and Thursday, and in the case of the shorter races the barrier positions will play a conspicuous part. None of the best handicap performers will be seen in action, but that should not deprive the spectators of some good racing. The programme is what might well be called at most a mile handicap affair. The following promise to be supported in their engagements: llautoki Plate. Archieval and Havering. Borough Handicap.—Lady Quex and Fancy Boy. Rahotu Hurdhss. —Gala Day and Beri nth ia. Stewards’ Handicap.—Lady Quex and Partial Eclipse. Christmas Handicap.—Orazone and Wenday. Atiawa Hack Cup.— Royal Acre and Acred. Tikorangi Hack Stakes. —Gold Dawn and Merxcis. Flying Handicap.—Te Atiawa and T a kutama. C. W. France, who won the Te Awamutu Cup on Desert Glow, will be riding at the Taranaki fixture. Among his mounts are Gold Dawn, Callapat and Manly. Other riding, engagements include the following: P. Brady, Wenday and Glen Star; G. Holland, Horomea; I Du lieu, Archieval and Abbot’s Delight; C. Goulsbro, Mint Leaf, Fancy Boy, Partial Eclipse and Owairaka.
