DROWNED WHILE PADDLING

DEATH OF LITTLE GIRL Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. An inquest was held to-day concerning the death of Rae Verna Saul, aged 2 years 3 months, who was drowned at Petone Beach on Saturday. The evidence of the mother and sister. Joan, aged 7. showed that the, child was paddling with Joan in shallow' water and fell face downward. They were alone at the time, and Joan lifted the child and carried her home. A doctor used artificial respiration for half an hour without result. Death was due to drowning. The coroner returned a verdict accordingly, adding that no blame was due to anyone.
