The Right Hon. J. CL Coates arrived from the South this morning, and later left for Dargaville by the Whangarei express.
Mr. K. A. Lippincott returned to Auckland this morning by the Limited from Wellington.
Mr. F. F. Hockly, ex-M.P. for Rotorua, arrived in Auckland yesterday, ile intends to live in Remuera.
The Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, Minister of Health, returned to Auckland by tlie Limited this morning.
Mr. A. T. Donnelly, Crown Prosecutor. Christchurch, arrived in Auckland this morning, and is staying at Cargen.
Sir George Fowlds, who has been visiting the Massey Memorial College, IVlmerston North, returned to Auckland to-day.
Mr. R. P. Bates, of Wellington, has been appointed relieving postmaster at Morrinsville, vice Mr. E. E. Hirst, who has returned to Tirau.
Mr. A. W. Don, who has been assistant master at the Morrinsville District High School and who is leaving to take over a private school at Masterton, Mas tendered a farewell this week.
Mr. A. D. Carson, of Wellington, Mho has been travelling in England and the United States, will return home by the Acxrangi, which berths in Auckland on Sunday, December 30.
Mr. J. W. G. Brodie, who has been managing director in New Zealand for TV. D. and H. O. Wills, Ltd., has left fur England on permanent transfer.
Mr. Robert McPherson, manager of Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Co.’s Invercargill branch, has been appointed manager of the New Zealand Wheat Growers’ Association, which will control the wheat pool.—P.A.
Mr. Robert Burns and has daughter, Mrs. J. E. Russell, have booked passages for England by the Tamaroa, which sails for England about January 1!) Mr. Burns will join Mrs. Burns and Miss Elizabeth in England and they expect to return to Auckland about September.
jlr W. D. Stewart, superintendent of Dalgety’s, New Zealand, who has been promoted to the position of the company’s superintendent in Australia, was vrsterday presented with a portrait in oils of himself, painted by Mrs. Tripe. AH managers in New Zealand were present at the ceremony. A presentation was also made to Mrs. Stewrirt. Mr. W. S. Bennett, the new* superintendent for New Zealand, was congratulated on his promotion.
The Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, Minister Of Health, will meet the members of his election committee at tea at 6 o’clock this evening. At 8 o clock there will be a public function, at which Mr. Stallworthy will be the guest of honour. This will be the first occasion since the election that he lias had. an opportunity of meeting his constituents. On Monday Mr. Stallworthy will meet a deputation at the Minister s room in the Post Office at 11 o clock, and later in the day he will inspect the new mental hospital at Patumahoe.
