CLERGYMEN ORDAINED

FOUR NEW MINISTERS SERVICE AT ST. MATTHEW’S Four candidates were ordained into the priesthood by his Grace Archbishop Averill, in St. Matthew’s Church yesterday morning. The four were Mr. George Rue Monteith, who was ordained a deacon and Mr. Francis Cecil Truman, Mr. Rikihana Te llau and Mr. Harold William Heaslip. who were ordained priests. The Rev. W. G. Monckton, who preached the sermon, emphasised the great responsibilities the candidates were undertaking. He hoped that they would be worthy leaders and conscientious workers, for the world was sadly in need of more spiritual training and culture. He thought that the typo of men now entering the ministry was the right type for the Work that had to be done. All four candidates were ex-pupils of St. John’s College. During the service suitable hymns were sung and the congregation prayed for the success of the newly-ordained ministers
