Ventnor, Isle of Wight. “Jt was most fortunate/’ Lady Jellicoe said to a “Daily Chronicle” representative, “that nobody was hurt, but for a moment or two it was really very alarming. “At a bend in the rodd near the junction of Castle Road and Park Avenue, our car came into collision with one occupied by Mr. Gladstone May, of Cowes. “Although Mr. May’s car was so badly damaged that it. had to be left by the roadside, he and his chauffeur escaped without a scratch. “We were still more fortunate. Our car was hardly damaged at all. owing. I imagine, largely to the presence of mind of the chauffeur —and we escaped with a shock and a shaking.”
