WORKERS’ ASSESSORS AUCKLAND NOMINEE * The Auckland Stonemasons’ and Monumental Workers’ Union has decided to nominate Mr. A. L. Monteith for reappointment to the position of workers’ assessor on the Arbitration James Purtell, of Auckland, was nominated for the position of deputyassessor. , . Mr. Purtell, who is secretary to several unions, is a keen advocate in the cause of the workers generally, •md on frequent occasions represents the men's case before the Conciliation Council and in* the Arbitration Court, lie has been handling the stonemasons’ affairs for some time, although he is not actually secretary to their union. He is secretary for the hrickworkers and the liftmen and cZnert as well as a worker in the Workers’ Anti-Uiquof League.
