ALL BERRIES PLENTIFUL GOOD TOMATO SALES Strawberries and gooseberries were plentiful on the benches at the City Markets to-day. Gooseberries are selling at slightly lower values. Strawberries, too, are not bringing high prices, although the inquiry is steady. # Local apples are still hard to clear, but Canadian apples are well sought. Plums are selling well, and Sydney apricots are finding a good market. Hothouse and outdoor *omatoes are in good demand. Green - peas are in exceptionally heavy supply in the vegetable market. Potatoes, new season’s onions and lettuces are also in ample quantity. The demand is good. Producers have held over their supplies of poultry until the last few sales before Christmas. Consequently there is an over-supply and prices are the lowest for several seasons. Turkeys and geese have come forwar din particularly large numbers, Hens and ducks are still in heavy supply and prices are low. Choice cockerels are few and values are very high. Baconer pigs are bringing £ 3 6s to £3 18s; porkers, £2 to £2 10s: slips, 16s to 265; and weaners, to 12s. Quotations: FRUIT Apples: Sturmer, os to Ss; Dougherty, 3s to 6s; Canadian Delicious, ISs to 20s; Canadian Winesaps, 18s to 19s; Canadian Newtown Pippin, 18s to 19s. Pears: Barrys, 5s to 7s.
