GENERAL RIMINGTON DEAD

(Australian and, N.Z. Press Association) (United, Service) LONDON, Wednesday. The death has occurred of MajorGeneral Sir Michael Riming ton, who served in the South African War from 1899 to 1902, at the age of 70 years.

Major-General Rimington entered the Sixth (Inniskilling) Dragoons in 1881, and was promoted to the rank of major in 1897. He served in the Bechuanaland expedition of 1884-85, the Zululand war of 1888, and the South African War. He was mentioned in despatches five times. He wrote textbooks on military matters.
