CLOSING HOURS
RESTRICTIONS ON FRUIT SHOPS REMOVED
The closing hours of all chemists’ shops in the combined district of Auckland have been fixed by a notice recently gazetted.
The times are as follow:—On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursda3 r s, at 6 p.m.; on Fridays, 9.30 p.m.; on Saturdays, 1 p.m.; on Sundays, close all day-. The shop may also be kept open for the supply of medicines and surgical appliances on Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A notice has also been received by the Auckland branch of the Labour Department that, as the result of a request made by a majority of the occupiers of fruit shops in Auckland, the Minister of Labour has cancelled the notices fixing the closing hours for fruiterers’ shops. There is, therefore, no fixed closing hours for these shops, but fruiterers who also sell tobacco or groceries will be compelled to observe the closing hours as before.
