HEADMASTER LEAVES
FAREWELL AT RICHMOND WEST Before retiring on superannuation after 40 years’ teaching, Mr. G. Wilson, headmaster of • the Richmond West School, was farewelled by th« staff and pupils yesterday. Mr. F. Newton, who was in the chair, said that the school had greatly progressed under Mr. Wilson’s supervision. He congratulated one scholar who had five attendance certificates to his credit. Mr. A. Burns, chairman of the Auckland Education Board, said that Mr Wilson had been a most able headmaster. The school had progressed smoothly under him and the board was indeed sorry to lose him. On behalf of the staff, Mr. C. Boswell presented Mr. Wilson with a rur Mr. J. S. Fletcher, M.P., congratulated the teachers on their work. Mr. Wilson thanked the staff ana pupils and said he was sorry to leave. Mrs. Wilson was presented with a boquet.
