“THE RIVER”
BY DIRECTOR OF “7TH HEAVEN” Pictorially a picture of sheer beauty and an artistic dramatic triumph for Frank Borzage and Fox Films, has been achieved in the production of “The River.” “The River” is the story of the first love of Allan John Pender, played by Charles Farrell, for “Rosalee,” portrayed by Mary Duncan. The unfolding- of the spiritual side of Rosalee’s nature because of her great love for Allan, has been superbly handled by Mr. Borzage, who gave the screen its immortal love classic, “Seventh Heaven.”
Mary Duncan, a new personality to the screen, gives a notable performance as Rosalee, and Mr. Farrell adds new laurels to his screen achievements by his finely drawn performance of the boy* who finds his first love and his ideal in Rosalee.
