TUDOR, REMUERA
I “WARMING UP” "Warming Up,” a breezy comedydrama on the American baseball game, W HI be shown at the Tudor Cinema, Remuera, this evening:. Though we do not understand so vey much about the game of baseball in this corner of the world, one cannot but help getting excited about “Warming Up,” which stars the manly Richard Dix. Finer points may go astray, but the big idea gets home to the spectator when he finds the country boy called upon to save his team from the ignominy of defeat in the final of the tremendously important “World’s series.” There is plenty of romance and plenty of humour in “Warming Up.” Adolphe Menjou in “His Tiger Lady” will also be shown. ROYAL SHOWS “HOT HEELS” “Hot Heels,” the comedy now screening at the Royal Theatre, Kingsland, starring Glenn Try on, might be termed a doubly entertaining film. It merits classification as either a sparkling, effervescent comedy of youth, or as a thrilling, stirring drama of back-stage and the race track. Under either clasification it is outstanding; under both classifications it is a rare achievement in the art of entertainment. The audience laughs until it is weak at the delicious comedy and thrills at the terrific suspense and the amazing steeplechase which, for sheer splendour of treatment, gives other directors a mark at which to aim. “Wrath of the Gods,” the second attraction, is a fine Alpine drama.
