IS COMPANY A PLUMBER?
TECHNICAL DEFENCE RAISED (Special to THE SUN) NEW PLYMOUTH, Wednesday. Whether a company can be a plumber was discussed in the New Plymouth Magistrate’s Court to-day. Boon Brothers, builders, were charged with doing sanitary plumbing work without being registered plumbers. A technical defence was offered. There was no such firm as Boon Brothers, said counsel, as that firm had been formed into a limited liability company in 1915, the serving of the summons on Alfred Boon being therefore irieffective. It was also submitted that a company could not be a registered plumber because of the conditions imposed by the examination. All work done by the firm was under the charge of a registered plumber. Decision was reserved, the magistrate considering the points raised as important.
