A GHASTLY STORY

COFFINS RAIDED IN VAULT DRINKING PARTIES HELD? MELBOURNE, Wednesday. A grim discovery has been made by the ssxton of a cemetery at Geelong, which contains a large vault in which there are 15 coffins and space for nine more. The sexton discovered that somebody bad raided two of the coffins, apparently to secure jewels believed to have been buried with the bodies. The coffins were bJlfily damaged and some of the mountings stolen. The sexton says the lock had been off the vault fox’ some time.

Another allegation is that the vault has been used by drinking parties.
