OLD TANK UNEARTHED An unusual discovery was made Te Kuiti yesterday, when, as a result of a complaint regarding a slight subsidence on the green in the main street, borough workmen unearthed an old tar-tank measuring 16 feet long, 6 feet wide, by 5 feet deep. The tank, which must have been used over 20 years ago, was sunk in tho ground, the top being covered with planks, over which the turf had grown. Decay of one of the planks had partly uncovered the object.
