SUCCESSFUL YEAR
KING’S SCHOOL BREAKS UP FULL PRIZE LIST King’s School, Remuera, held its annual prize-giving ceremony in St Mark’s Hall yesterday afternoon. The chairman of the King’s School Board of Governors, Mr. T. G. Dawson, presided, and congratulated the headmaster, the Rev. J. G. T. Castle, on the year’s work. After referring to the high standard attained both on the playing field and in the classroom, Mr. Castle congratulated the head boy of the sixth form,, R. J. B. Peacocke, on winning the Myers-Bankart Scholarship. Mr. Castle referred also to the tine school chapel, which was dedicated by Archbishop Averill last month, and thanked parents for the support which had enabled the much-needed addition to be made. Thanks were due also, he said, to Mrs. Ward, the school matron, who had done so much fine work before ill-health had compelled her to retire at the end of the second term. The prizes were presented by Archbishop Averill, who congratulated the boys on their year’s work. Following is the prize-list: Special Prizes, Divinity.—Forms Via, Va, Vb: R. D. Sweet.
